XI KAPPA LAMBDA

THE FOUNDING OF XI KAPPA LAMBDA CHAPTER

The origin of Xi Kappa Lambda began in 1982 when members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, residing in the Missouri City, Texas area, expressed an interest to the National Organization to establish a local chapter. The nucleus of Alpha men facilitating this project was led by William A. T. Byrd and James Grady Prestage.

The first official chapter meeting was held Saturday April 30, 1983 at the residence of Bro. William A. T. Byrd, the Presiding Officer. Brothers in attendance were Raymond Kelly, Wilfred Green, Archie Blanson, Collie Chambers, Edmund Hendon, and Michael Fain, a college Brother from the University of Houston.
